Trevor Nichols and Grady Gatewood finished 1-2 in the Class 2A/1A boys cross country final on Saturday at Lane Community College. They don't often see one anoher, outside of meets, because Gatewood lives in Condon, 43 miles away. Gatewood's school doesn't offer cross country so he and a few others from Condon co-op with Heppner. Nichols won the race in 16:10.0 and Gatewood was second in 16:12.9 and the Mustangs finished third as a team.
